The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has used the Spending Review this Wednesday to set out the government’s ambition to support the housing sector after the coronavirus pandemic with a multimillion-pound funding boost.

“An investment of £573 million in Disabled Facilities Grants and £71 million in the Care and Support Specialised Housing Fund, supporting people to live independently for longer”

In the detail of the Spending Review he confirmed that the Disabled Facilities Grant allocation will rise from £505 million to £573 million. This represents a 13.5% uplift in the money local authorities will have available to deliver much needed adaptations to people’s homes.
