We have all found it difficult during the pandemic over the past 12 months. Staying at home, not being able to see our loved ones. Restrictions set by the government to particular shops and public areas we were able to visit. Has all had a major impact on our mental health and general wellbeing.

How would you feel if you were unable to leave the house not due to government guidance as a result of a pandemic but as a result of your homes inaccessibility?

Project

While many people take access to all areas as a given, those with mobility issues are only too aware of how being in a wheelchair can impact on daily living. That is why it fills our teams with pride and joy when we can make a difference.

This year a couple from Gateshead who had been made housebound as a result of their property being inaccessible for a wheelchair user were unsure who to contact for advice . When contact was made, representatives from Adapt your home for life attended property immediately talking through solutions that were available. We provided an Innovative and cost effective solution that was easily and quickly installed making all the difference to their quality of life and independence.
